The original visionaries, Steve and Bobbie, stumbled upon this secluded slice of paradise and instantly knew they had found something extraordinary. With hearts full of adventure, they made a bold decision—they sold everything, packed up their lives in the United States, and set out to create a new home in the untouched beauty of Secret Beach.
At first, their dream was simple: to build a peaceful retreat where they could wake up to the sound of the waves, bask in breathtaking sunsets, and embrace the slow, rhythmic pace of island life. But as they stood on the shore, gazing out at the crystal-clear turquoise waters, they had an idea—why keep this paradise all to themselves?
With hard work, perseverance, and a vision to share their discovery, they transformed their land into a charming bed and breakfast, welcoming travelers from all over the world to experience the untouched beauty of Ambergris Caye. And so, Secret Beach Cabanas was born—originally known as Paradise on the Caye, long before the world caught on and the area became the not-so-secret Secret Beach.
Over the years, word spread. What was once a quiet, undiscovered oasis slowly became one of the most sought-after destinations in Belize. New homes, restaurants, beach bars, and adventure spots began popping up, yet Secret Beach never lost its magic—it remained the perfect balance of lively island energy and serene, off-the-grid tranquility.
How We Found Our Way to Secret Beach
When Mike and I first set foot on this island, we felt something we had never felt before—a deep connection to the people, the culture, the food, and the pure, natural beauty surrounding us. We were instantly captivated.
By sheer serendipity, we learned that Steve and Bobbie were preparing to return to the United States, ready to pass the torch of Secret Beach Cabanas to new owners who would cherish and preserve its soul. The moment we saw it, we knew—this was our calling.
We fell in love not just with the cabanas, but with the feeling of Secret Beach—the way the sunset paints the sky in fiery oranges and soft pinks, the way the water sparkles under the Caribbean sun, and the way life slows down here, allowing you to breathe, unwind, and truly savor every moment.
